Nicola and David

CHELMSFORD CATHEDRAL AND THE PUNCH BALL, HIGH EASTER

I first met Nicola and her Mother back in April about 5 months before the wedding.  I could soon see that Nicola has a clear vision of what she wanted when it came to her wedding and flowers and the atmosphere and the colour they would bring would be important. We soon set to work to create the perfect wedding flowers for Nicola and David. Nicola was very specific there had to be a “wow” factor and the wedding had to reflect their personalities.

Their home was a restored Victorian House so the muted shade and style would suit perfectly. Nicola felt that she would like a Teardrop Bouquet and her lace and chiffon wedding dress.

We therefore used delicate coloured pale pink Sweet Avalanche Roses,  lavender Memory Lane Roses and pink Gypsophila combined with lavender Eustoma and Limonium together with the Soft Italian Ruscus to create a bouquet that would certainly enhance Nicola’s beautiful dress and grace the magnificent surroundings of the Cathedral at Chelmsford where she and David made their vows and became Man and Wife.

They wore Amethyst coloured floor length dresses which complimented the flowers perfectly and we created Hand Tied Bouquets using similar flowers to those in Nicola’s bouquet but added Lavender Freesias as well to bring out the colour of the dresses. When we discussed their wedding reception Nicola told us that this was going to be held in a Marquee at their favourite restaurant The Punch Bowl at High Easter and it was here that she really wanted that “Wow” factor. She wanted guests to be blown away as they entered.

Marion, thank you so much for listening and taking the time at both of our meetings to discuss exactly what I wanted to achieve, you were so incredibly patient, inspiring and helpful going through all the fine details with me.

High Easter is a lovely village in the heart of the Essex Countryside and we took this into consideration when we designed the arrangements. As there was to be 10 tables we agreed to create five high and five low ones so that when people entered the room their eye would be drawn around and not just to one height. This added interest but Nicola was also keen that the high arrangements had other elements at different levels and we achieved this by placing glass candle holders with Ivory Church Candles between the flowers and the T lights on the table.

The low arrangements were created round and in glass dishes to continue the theme and were also surrounded by T Lights. Tall arrangements soaring towards the high ceiling of the marquee were arranged in glass flute vases which we filled with water and fresh rose petals. To both arrangements we added beautiful muted Hydrangeas as well as the same flowers we had used in the bouquets and to the taller vases Delphiniums (to give height) and for the top table we filled this with a continuous arrangement the length of the table.

The rest of the Marquee included a bar and a dance floor disco and lighting provided by Lovelight Entertainment. We had a great time working with Nicola and her family in the planning of her wedding and appreciated all her input and attention to detail and she didn’t even moan when I asked her to pop into the studio one morning early before work so we could look at different vases. The day turned out to be a day of wonderful weather and a truly great wedding as I am sure you will see from the video below.

David I am sorry that I woke you when I delivered your buttonholes early in the morning but your speech was amazing and let me say that you had all better have a hanky ready as you watch the day unfold. Nicola and David sent us a lovely thank you after the wedding as did her Mother and we thank you too you were a pleasure to work with.

Well, well, well..... I've finally found the time to sit down to start writing out our thank you's, and I have to say we are starting with you. Why? Because quite simply you were the best supplier of our Wedding! THANK YOU. Marion, thank you so much for listening and taking the time at both of our meetings to discuss exactly what I wanted to achieve, you were so incredibly patient, inspiring and helpful going through all the fine details with me. And then.... boom.... the big day arrived and so did the flowers! And my goodness, did you deliver! They were absolutely beautiful and I really couldn't have asked for more. They were EXACTLY what I wanted, you really had listened to all my little likes and dislikes and I honestly couldn't fault your work. The flowers were perfect, thank you. I just can't wait for some of my friends to get married so I can recommend you.... and please feel free to pass on my contact details on to any on your future clients if they want to speak to me about your work - it would be an absolute pleasure. I could not recommend you enough!
